The 2010 THSLL State Championships will be played in Dallas at Highlander Stadium in University Park on May 8th and 9th. The 2010 THSLL State Championships will be hosted by Highland Park Boys Lacrosse.
The Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) is the governing body and membership association for boys lacrosse teams at the high school level in Texas. The high school level is defined as grades nine through twelve. The league executive board is comprised of volunteers throughout the state.
The THSLL hosts state championships each year for Divisions I and II. The hosting venue for the championship weekend is rotated from district to district each season.
The THSLL Division I teams will see a major change to the State Championship format for 2010. In previous years, the Central, North and South District Champions, in addition to a wild card team, played in a two round event to crown the State Champion. For 2010, a twelve team format will be implemented. On May 1&2, the South District (Houston) and Central District (San Antonio and Austin) will be hosting super regional playoffs. The top 4 teams from each district will qualify for the Super Regional. The four winners of Sunday’s games (2 from each regional) will advance to the State Championship the following weekend in Dallas. The final four teams play a single elimination tournament during the championship weekend and crown a state champion. Please see the Schedule for more details on the format.
Each of 4 DII districts; North, South, Central and San Antonio, will select a champion through district playoffs. The DII district champions will play in the state championship final four. The final four teams play a single elimination tournament during the championship weekend and crown a state champion. Please see the Schedule for more details on the format.
Division I and II All-Star players are selected by the coaches and awards are given for All State, All-District, and Honorable Mention.
